Q. What is the difference between the High Definition (HD) Megapixel IP Camera and the regular CCTV Analog Camera ?
The Megapixel camera is obviously named for its megapixel resolution. All HD megapixel IP cameras have 1,000,000 or more pixel resolution, while standard definition CCTV analog cameras have no more than 345,600 pixel resolution, HD Megapixel Security IP cameras are great for facial and license plate recognition while regular CCTV analog cameras are very poor in identifying face and license plate. HD megapixel cameras have POE function that enables the video signal and power to be carried by a single cat 5 cable which then connects to network. HD megapixel IP camera's video is recorded in NVR (Network video Recorder). The standard CCTV analog camera's video is transmitted by coaxial cable, and have to record it's images in the DVR (digital video recorder).
Q. What is the difference betweence High Definition IP camera and Megapixel IP camera ?
HD is a type of megapixel camera. All HD cameras are megapixel but not all megapixel cameras are HD.
· Maximum HD resolution is 2.1MP, maximum megapixel resolution is 16MP
· HD video format is 1280 x 720 or 1920 x 1080 (megapixel cameras can offer many more formats)
· HD aspect ratio is 16:9 (compared to 5:4 or 4:3 in other surveillance cameras)
· HD frame rate is 30/25 (where megapixel cameras are often 3 - 15 frames)
· HDTV has quality compliance standards (where megapixel simply specifies the number of pixels)
Q. Do I have to pay for the software when I purchase HD megapixel IP camera from WireTechGadgets ?
No, the software is free (our competitors charge software license fees by the camera number), it is very simple, just install the software into your computer and play. 70% window XP computers are compatible with our software. For over 4 cameras, there are special requirements for the computer which is able to accommodate up to 16 cameras. The instructions for software installation and the requirement of the computer will comes with the order.
Q. Is an internet access neccessary for megapixel IP camera & NVR ?
No, if you don't want to view remotely, you don't need internet access.
